Recently I had an issue with NodeRed that caused the NodeRed process to sometimes crash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually it's not that bad since it restarts automatically. On the other hand, it annoyed me at some point because the data in the dashboard view was lost and status messages were sent every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it was time to get to the bottom of the matter. I first checked the journal of the NodeRed service vai \"sudo journal -f -u nodered\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This command displays all status messages stored in the service's journal. But I was actually only interested in the last reports before NodeRed was restarted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have created the flow shown below for this purpose. This saves the contents of the journal in the \"\/home\/pi\/nodeRedLogFiles\" folder every time NodeRed is restarted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for an error that leads to a restart, you should find it quickly. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
