Ideal for determining whether and how much air is being transported inside. For this purpose, a magnet is installed on each blade of the internal propeller. The ESP32 S3 can then use the Hall sensor inside the electronics box to detect how fast the magnets or blades are rotating. So that both SolSpot and the GPS sensor have space on the SensorDock, I designed a suitable adapter plate. Now I can test under real lighting conditions how the sensor data can best be used to align the #solarpanel on the Sunchronizer to maximize the power output.🇩🇪 In case anyone was wondering how the Sunchronizer and SolSpot project is going: I am currently testing a first prototype. This makes it possible to measure various parameters of the air in the pipe system and react to them if desired. For example, you could deactivate the air supply if the CO2 content is too high. For this purpose, a BME280 or BME680 and a Fermion CO sensor from @dfrobot_official are installed in this segment. The sensors are read by a @seeedstudio XIAO ESP32 S3 and the data is then forwarded directly to the SmartHome thanks to the #ESPHome based firmware. 🇪🇺 In order for the control electronics of the #Sunchronizer to calculate the correct sun angle, it needs to know the exact time as well as the current position. For this purpose, I installed a GPS receiver on the Sunchronizer. I designed the housing shown so that the GPS antenna has a clear view of the sky and is protected from splash water/rain at the same time. The GPS module can be installed in it and then attached to the aluminum profiles of the Sunchronizer with the housing and two M5 screws. The STLs of the housing can be found at Nerdiy./shop/ 🙂🇩🇪 So that the control electronics of the #Sunchronizer can calculate the correct sun angle, it must know the current position as well as the exact time. 🇪🇺 A few weeks ago I stumbled across MadalenaMak's project while I've been looking for a stylish design for my waveshare e-Ink displays for a long time. To simplify the hardware setup a bit (and also expand the range of functions), I created a 3D printable insert. All the electronics, including the battery, can be housed in it. Thanks to DeepSleep from the @seeedstudio XIAO MCU, the picture frame can run for up to three months on one battery charge and thus wirelessly. The data displayed is retrieved from my #HomeAssistant Assistant instance. I currently have some space left on the display. 🇪🇺 I recently added a new feature to my (actually finished) #MagicMirror. I had made a cutout on the back to actually mount a back plate. Ultimately I left these out for thermal reasons. But that fits quite well because I was able to use this cutout perfectly to glue in an LED strip. This means that the entire frame of the MagicMirror can be indirectly backlit. To provide the 5V for the LED strip, I use a 5V/4A step-down converter that is powered from the 20V of the PD trigger board. The LED strip is controlled by a #ESP8266 flashed with #ESPHome.🇩🇪 I recently added a few features to my (actually finished) #MagicMirror. Since I have been working with the (here in Germany) successful "balcony power plants", I have been wondering how the energy yield of the two to four solar panels can be further improved.The Sunchronizer S1 is my first design of a a solar panel mount for "standard" 400" solar panels that automatically tracks the sun on one axis. As with my past projects, I tried to rely largely on 3D printed components and standard mechanical parts. The servo valve segment of the #PrintAirPipe system can be used as a controllable valve. The valve blade is controlled by an MG90 servo. Thanks to the built-in ESP32, the servo can be controlled via WiFi or the touch sensor on the housing. The LED shows the states open (green) and closed (red). To connect the #pxlDigit boards I have integrated pads for JST connectors in addition to soldering pads. Here in update about the latest iteration for the #pxlDigit housing. In the first version, the PCB had to be glued to the housing after it was inserted. Not really sexy. Especially if you want to take the PCB out again. That's why I adjusted the dimensions so that the PCB can be clicked into the housing. It then holds without screws and glue. I also created a 3D printed housing for the #bedSens PCB. The circuit board can be easily inserted into it and is then clamped in the housing by closing it with the 3D printed cover. The connections for the force sensors and the #WS2812 LED RGB strip are then accessible from the outside. In addition, a recess for the (optionally mounted #BME280) is also integrated. This way the sensor is in the air and the measured values are falsified as little as possible by the housing. My vacuum cleaner robot is currently sleeping under the cloakroom bench. So it is directly visible and always has free travel as soon as it is needed. But since he has already done so much diligent work, it is time to build him his own garage. As a first step, I designed a hinge which will later hold the garage door. The door opens in the same way as you know it from kitchen cabinets. Many of you had already recognized it correctly: The indicated side project is a rotational platform which I want to use for the presentation in the future. The electronics are completely made up of different modules. A PWM module is used to set the speed of the rotation. The direction of rotation is reversed using a twin switch.The 6V for the geared motor are generated from a BuckBoost converter from a 18650 LiPo cell. The whole thing can then be charged via USB-C. After the Staircase usermod from #WLED didn't work as it should have for my purpose, I combined what was necessary with my curiosity and finally worked my way into #Esphome. You can see the result in the video. The 192 LEDs long WS2815 LED strip is virtually divided into 12 segments (= steps). After touching one of the two touch sensors at the upper or lower end of the railing, the light is started with an animation and switched off again automatically after 15 seconds. Here comes (finally) the solution to my little slider riddle. Often there is almost always a USB port within reach for charging the many devices you have in your household. But I often had the problem that a suitable cable was missing. That's why I developed this winding mechanism, which you can easily mount (for example) under a tabletop. The USB-C cable can then be easily pulled out when needed.
