🇬🇧 Short interim project: At the moment I'm also working quite a lot on upgrading my #SmartHome. I stumbled across the shown #USB3.0 hub. The cool thing about this hub is that in addition to the HUB electronics, it also has an #ESP8266 installed, which you can use to switch the individual ports on and off. It gets even cooler because you can flash the #Tasmota firmware via the easily accessible pins. This makes integration into #HomeAssistant and Co super easy. I have linked the USB hub in my Amazon shop. You can find the link to it in my bio. 🙂⁣⁣You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓⁣If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).⁣⁣🇩🇪 Short Intermediate project: At the moment I'm also working quite a lot on upgrading my #SmartHome. (Ad)🇬🇧 On the first picture you can see the first circuit board for my Clockception project. I designed this a few years ago. At that time I still relied on many THT components. Among other things, because I didn't get along so well with SMD soldering. A few years (and soldered SMD components) later I created the current circuit board and had it manufactured by @pcbway (thanks 😍). A lot has changed on this one. All necessary components can be installed directly on this PCB. The two Hall sensors and the 24 SK6805 LEDs are installed on one side. On the other side is the Atmega328P for controlling the BKA30D dual stepper motor, the CAN controller, if necessary the #ESP32 for controlling the entire display, the Power Delivery phy to be able to communicate with a PD power supply and many other components. In the coming weeks I will try to show everything in more detail. 🙂You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).#Nerdiy.de #Nerdiy #Nerdy #caddesign #science #clockception #DIY #3dprinting #soldering #industrialdesign #doityourself #electronics #tech #technology #engineering #3dprinter #maker #arduino #esp8266 #esp #project #solderingiron #makerlife #CAD #lipo #electricalengineering #iot #espeasy #design @espressif_systems_official

So it's also time to show what I've been working on in the meantime: I've revived my old "Clockception" project. I had started around 2017. After realizing (in 2017) that I had to completely change the design, my motivation was gone for the time being. Thanks to some new skills I had learned in the meantime (CAD, PCB CAD, etc.), I had now ventured into the redesign. What is it about? In short: A very stylish clock, which you can find in the video above or on Youtube and Co under the term "A million times clock". Here in update about the latest iteration for the #pxlDigit housing. In the first version, the PCB had to be glued to the housing after it was inserted. Not really sexy. Especially if you want to take the PCB out again. That's why I adjusted the dimensions so that the PCB can be clicked into the housing. It then holds without screws and glue. Do you like the solution? 🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓 Link: https://nerdiy.de/links/If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).🇩🇪 Here in update about the last aiteration for the #pxlDigit case. I also created a 3D printed housing for the #bedSens PCB. The circuit board can be easily inserted into it and is then clamped in the housing by closing it with the 3D printed cover. The connections for the force sensors and the #WS2812 LED RGB strip are then accessible from the outside. In addition, a recess for the (optionally mounted #BME280) is also integrated. This way the sensor is in the air and the measured values are falsified as little as possible by the housing. The PCB was kindly provided to me by @pcbway. 😍🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓 Link: https://nerdiy.de/links/If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).🇩🇪 For the #bedSens PCB I also made a matching case. My vacuum cleaner robot is currently sleeping under the cloakroom bench. So it is directly visible and always has free travel as soon as it is needed. But since he has already done so much diligent work, it is time to build him his own garage. As a first step, I designed a hinge which will later hold the garage door. The door opens in the same way as you know it from kitchen cabinets. The door swings parallel up and out of the frame. The hinge shown is a first test. 🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓 Link: https://nerdiy.de/links/If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).🇩🇪 My vacuum cleaner robot currently sleeps under the wardrobe bench. Many of you had already recognized it correctly: The indicated side project is a rotational platform which I want to use for the presentation in the future. The electronics are completely made up of different modules. A PWM module is used to set the speed of the rotation. The direction of rotation is reversed using a twin switch. The 6V for the geared motor are generated from a BuckBoost converter from a 18650 LiPo cell. The whole thing can then be charged via USB-C. Apart from the 3D printed parts, only a few ball bearings and screws are otherwise required 🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓 Link: https://nerdiy.de/links/If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).🇩🇪 Many of you had already recognized it correctly: The indicated sideproject is a turntable which I want to use for presentation in the future. After the Staircase usermod from #WLED didn't work as it should have for my purpose, I combined what was necessary with my curiosity and finally worked my way into #Esphome. You can see the result in the video. The 192 LEDs long WS2815 LED strip is virtually divided into 12 segments (= steps). After touching one of the two touch sensors at the upper or lower end of the railing, the light is started with an animation and switched off again automatically after 15 seconds. Do you like the effect? 🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓 Link: https://nerdiy.de/links/If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).🇩🇪 After the Staircase usermod from #WLED didn't work as it should have for my purpose, I combined the necessary with my curiosity and finally dug into #Esphome. Small demo of the start process of the Clockception modules. After the master module (bottom left) has started, the other modules can also start. After the self-test (sensor check, etc.) was successful, the start animation is displayed. The master module is still based on the previous revision, which is why the LED animation is inverted there. You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube).A small demo of the startup process of the Clockception modules. Here comes (finally) the solution to my little slider riddle. Often there is almost always a USB port within reach for charging the many devices you have in your household. But I often had the problem that a suitable cable was missing. That's why I developed this winding mechanism, which you can easily mount (for example) under a tabletop. The USB-C cable can then be easily pulled out when needed. When you no longer need it, it is neatly wound up again in the winding mechanism 🙂 You can find more information and detailed instructions for my projects on NerDIY.de 🤓If you like what I'm doing follow me on @Nerdiy.de (Instagram) or @Nerdiy (YouTube). Here comes also (finally) the solution of my little slider puzzle. Tensioning the 5mm thick rubber band creates quite a pull. One latch mechanism didn't always hold up here. I'm currently working on an additional animation for the #pxlBlck firmware. In the animation shown, the currently fed-in power of a solar system is shown on the display as a "gauge" animation including the numerical value (inW).
