🇪🇺 To control the azimuth/rotation axis of the #Sunchronizer, I use a 3D-printed worm gear. The worm is then driven by another spur gear and a 12V motor to rotate the Sunchronizer assembly on the 3D-printed slewing ring.It already works very well. At the same time, I see the most potential for improvement here. How would you do it? 🙂🇩🇪 Um die Azimuth/Rotationsachse vom #Sunchronizer zu steuern nutze ich ein 3D gedrucktes Schneckengetriebe. Die Schnecke wird dann über ein weiteres Stirnradgetriebe und einen 12V Motor angetrieben um den Aufbau des Sunchronizers auf dem 3D gedruckten Drehkranz zu drehen. Es funktioniert so schon sehr gut. Gleichzeitig sehe ich hier auch noch am meisten Verbesserungspotential. 🇪🇺 For a project, I needed a simple camera housing for the @raapberrypi camera and the Raspberry Pi. So, I quickly fired up the CAD tool, and voila, a new housing design was born. Thanks to the tripod thread, the camera constructed this way can also be mounted on a simple photo tripod. You can find the housing in my shops. I've since made some design changes and scaled back some of my overengineering. I finished the first prototype of my housing for the new @raspberrypi Touch Display 2. This comes with a resolution of 1280x720 pixel at 7" size. Perfect to display high resolution photos. 😍But of course you need a proper housing. This fits tightly around the screen and integrates a RPi4 on the back. Also there is a place to mount an optional 40mm fan, a wall hanger and a standfoot is integrated. 🇪🇺 It took a while, but I've finally finished three new segments for the #PrintAirPipe system. There are now two fan segments with which either a 120mm axial or 120mm radial fan can be integrated into the system. Thanks to the support of @pcbway , I have also designed a suitable PCB with which the built-in PWM fan can be controlled and read using a @seeedstudio XIAO ESP32 S3. The firmware is again based on #esphome and allows the target speed to be set but also the actual speed to be read.Additionally I have now also published a filter segment to match this. This allows the pipe system to be expanded to include a HEPA filter and/or activated carbon filter. Ideal for determining whether and how much air is being transported inside. For this purpose, a magnet is installed on each blade of the internal propeller. The ESP32 S3 can then use the Hall sensor inside the electronics box to detect how fast the magnets or blades are rotating. So that both SolSpot and the GPS sensor have space on the SensorDock, I designed a suitable adapter plate. Now I can test under real lighting conditions how the sensor data can best be used to align the #solarpanel on the Sunchronizer to maximize the power output.🇩🇪 In case anyone was wondering how the Sunchronizer and SolSpot project is going: I am currently testing a first prototype. For this purpose, a BME280 or BME680 and a Fermion CO sensor from @dfrobot_official are installed in this segment. Since I have been working with the (here in Germany) successful "balcony power plants", I have been wondering how the energy yield of the two to four solar panels can be further improved.The Sunchronizer S1 is my first design of a solar panel mount for "standard" 400" solar panels that automatically tracks the sun on one axis. As with my past projects, I tried to rely largely on 3D printed components and standard mechanical parts. The servo valve segment of the #PrintAirPipe system can be used as a controllable valve. The valve blade is controlled by an MG90 servo. Thanks to the built-in ESP32, the servo can be controlled via WiFi or the touch sensor on the housing. The LED shows the states open (green) and closed (red). To connect the #pxlDigit boards I have integrated pads for JST connectors in addition to soldering pads. Here in update about the latest iteration for the #pxlDigit housing. In the first version, the PCB had to be glued to the housing after it was inserted. Not really sexy. Especially if you want to take the PCB out again. That's why I adjusted the dimensions so that the PCB can be clicked into the housing. It then holds without screws and glue. I also created a 3D printed housing for the #bedSens PCB. The circuit board can be easily inserted into it and is then clamped in the housing by closing it with the 3D printed cover. The connections for the force sensors and the #WS2812 LED RGB strip are then accessible from the outside. In addition, a recess for the (optionally mounted #BME280) is also integrated. This way the sensor is in the air and the measured values are falsified as little as possible by the housing. My vacuum cleaner robot is currently sleeping under the cloakroom bench. So it is directly visible and always has free travel as soon as it is needed. But since he has already done so much diligent work, it is time to build him his own garage. As a first step, I designed a hinge which will later hold the garage door. The door opens in the same way as you know it from kitchen cabinets. Many of you had already recognized it correctly: The indicated side project is a rotational platform which I want to use for the presentation in the future. The electronics are completely made up of different modules. A PWM module is used to set the speed of the rotation. The direction of rotation is reversed using a twin switch.The 6V for the geared motor are generated from a BuckBoost converter from a 18650 LiPo cell. The whole thing can then be charged via USB-C.
