Description

The PrintAirPipe system is a 3D printable pipe system. The various pipe segments can be used to create an individual and customizable exhaust or supply air system. Ideal for transporting the exhaust air from a soldering station, 3D printer or similar to a suitable filter system or wall outlet.

The PrintAirPipe system consists of various segments that can be individually connected to each other.

Components overview & dimensions

The following is an overview of the usual dimensions of the various pipe segments. If dimensions are missing, please use the contact form let us know and we will add this later.


Electromechanical servo valve

The servo valve can be used to block or regulate the air flow in the duct system. It is controlled via a servo and an ESP32. Both are installed on the unit and supplied with power via a USB-C connection. The firmware is based on ESPHome and can therefore be easily integrated into Home Assistant or other SmartHome systems.

The valve status can also be switched between open and closed directly on the unit using a touch switch installed on the unit. The current status is displayed via an LED on the unit.

360° Intake Segment

With the PrintAirPipe - 360° Intake Segment, it is possible to direct the air inside the PrintAirPipe pipe system to the outside or to draw air from the outside into the inside of the pipe system.

The ventilation openings in the segment can be closed or opened either manually using a small lever or automatically.

The firmware of the control electronics is based on ESPHome and can therefore be integrated into many SmartHome systems such as HomeAssistant.

AirFlowSensor segment

The PrintAirPipe - 125 AirFlowSensor Segment can be used to measure the volume of air moved or the speed of the air in the pipe system.

The electronics are based on an ESP32 S3, three LEDs and a Hall sensor. The entire electronics can be supplied with power via a USB-C cable. The rotational speed of the propeller inside is shown in an animation on the outside. (Further information in the video linked below)

Air Sensor Segment

With the help of the PrintAirPipe - 125 Air Sensor Segment for the PrintAirPipe System it is possible to measure various properties of the air around the pipe system.

For this purpose, a BME680, a BME280 and one of the available Fermion gas sensors from DF-Robot be installed.

The sensors can then be read out using the SeeedStudio XIAO ESP32 S3 built into the sensor segment. Thanks to the firmware based on the ESPHome framework, the data can easily be forwarded to a SmartHome system or elsewhere and processed accordingly. 

This also makes it possible to react to certain values. For example, the supply air path can be shut off after a certain change in air quality has been detected. For this purpose, the PrintAirPipe - ServoValve be used.

Inch adapter set

With the PrintAirPipe - 125 inch adapter set, you can connect pipes with inch dimensions to the PrinAirPipe system connect. The exact dimensions are given in the overviews below.

Locking pin

The locking pin can be used to secure two connected segments so that they can no longer be twisted against each other.


Connecting ring

The connecting ring parts can be used to connect the different pipe segments of the PrintAirPipe system.

Connecting ring incl. wall bracket

Using the connecting ring parts, it is possible to connect the various pipe segments of the PrintAirPipe system to each other. Thanks to the wall bracket, this connecting ring can also be attached to the ceiling/wall (for example) in order to permanently mount the assembled PrintAirPipe system.

Cover cap

The cover cap can be used to close an open pipe segment. To do this, the cover cap is placed in front of it and fixed to the pipe segment with a connecting ring.

 

 


22.5° pipe connector

The 22.5° pipe connector is a connecting piece with a bend of 22.5°. It can be used when the pipe needs to be guided around a bend.

 


45° pipe connector

The 45° pipe connector is a connecting piece with a 45° bend. It can be used when the pipe needs to be guided around a bend.


90° pipe connector

The 90° pipe connector is a connecting piece with a 90° bend. It can be used when the pipe needs to be guided around a bend.

 

 


Filter insert

The filter insert makes it possible to add a filter mat to the PrintAirPipe system. The 125x125x10mm filter mat is simply inserted from the outside and closed with a cover. The filter mat can therefore be replaced later without having to dismantle the pipe system.

Flange connection

The PrintAirPipe system can be connected to a housing, wall or similar using the flange connection.


Extension piece 50mm

This extension piece allows the pipe run to be extended by 50 mm.


Extension piece 100mm

This extension piece allows the pipe run to be extended by 100 mm.


Extension piece 150mm

This extension piece allows the pipe run to be extended by 150 mm.


Extension piece 200mm

This extension piece allows the pipe run to be extended by 200 mm.


Reducer 50mm

This reducer reduces the pipe diameter from the standard diameter (125 mm) to 50 mm.


Reducer 80mm

This reducer reduces the pipe diameter from the standard diameter (125 mm) to 80 mm.


Reducer 100mm

This reducer reduces the pipe diameter from the standard diameter (125 mm) to 100 mm.


HT pipe 50 connection adapter

The HT pipe 50 connection adapter can be used to connect the PrintAirPipe system to an HT50 pipe.


HT pipe 75 connection adapter

With the HT pipe 75 connection adapter, the PrintAirPipe system can be connected to an HT75 pipe.


HT pipe 90 connection adapter

The HT 90 pipe connection adapter can be used to connect the PrintAirPipe system to an HT90 pipe.


HT pipe 110 connection adapter

The HT 110 pipe connection adapter can be used to connect the PrintAirPipe system to an HT 110 pipe.


Y-adapter Angled

With this Y-adapter, it is possible to expand the PrintAirPipe system to two connections or to merge two connections into one. 


Straight Y-adapter

With this Y adapter, it is possible to extend the PrintAirPipe system to two connections or to merge two connections into one. The connections are all arranged in the same pipe direction.
